- Oral Presentation, Interviewing, and Briefing Skills Sources Sought Requirements, Goals and Objectives Upon completion of training, participants will demonstrate increased effectiveness and confidence in: • Delivering dynamic presentations, briefings, press conferences, and panel discussions by fielding questions, speaking impromptu, and enhancing personal credibility; • Communicating U.S. policy clearly to foreign and domestic audiences; • Persuading and/or informing official and private audiences on key developments for topics related to their portfolios; • Interacting with the media; • Conducting successful interviews with well-phrased questions that elicit information, solicit support, and enable the assessment of subject's strengths and weaknesses; • General oral communications skills such as active listening, tailoring information to specific audiences, issuing clarification, nonverbal communication, and persuasiveness. Work Requirements General The contractor will: • Develop and deliver a module, workshop, lecture, or segment based on a familiarity with course goals and grounded in adult learning theory, taught through a supportive and interactive style to encourage an experiential approach to learning. Methodology may include lecture, open discussions, and student presentations, as well as other relevant methodologies. • Manage and conduct appropriate preparation prior to the start of the course offering, such as the compilation of training materials and the provision of additional instructors as necessary. • Utilize an existing module, workshop, lecture, or segment design or create a module, workshop, lecture, or segment design that ensures participants are engaged in enhancing their ability to effectively communicate, present information, and conduct interviews. • Monitor module, workshop, lecture, or segment progress and revise training as necessary.
