- Description
- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Fixed Price Purchase Order to Illumina, Inc., San Diego, CA 92122 on a sole source basis to procure a MiSeq System (Integrated System for Automated Generation of DNA clonal clusters by bridge amp, sequencing, primary and secondary analysis) for the purposes of acquiring next generation sequencing equipment in order to eliminate ambiguous allele combinations located at the National Institutes of Health's Clinical Center, Department of Transfusion Medicine. Illumina, Inc is the sole manufacturer and proprietor of the equipment in question. The Illumina MiSeq System is a next generation, benchtop sequencer with a simple workflow, enabling researchers to move from sample to data in as little as eight hours. Capable of generating up to 15Gb per run, the MiSeq system is the only next generation sequencer that integrates amplification, sequencing and data analysis in a single instrument with a footprint of less than two square feet. Using Nextera kits, currently the fastest sample prep workflow available, the MiSeq system supports industry leading data accuracy with faster turnaround times than ever before. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to the acquisition of commercial items prescribed in FAR Part 12 in conjunction with the policies and procedures for the competition requirements in FAR Part 6. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Ivan Jones, Contract Specialist, ivan.jones@nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
