Description

The U.S. General Services Administration, Region 8, PBS intends to issue a Sole Source Award to Siemen's Industry, Inc., 1000 Deerfield Parkway, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 for the purchase and license programming of Water, Gas and BTU meters for select buildings in Region 8. Siemen's is the only qualified source to provide the services required. The initial installation and programming of the metering data at the locations in Region 8 were completed utilizing a Siemens metering management system. Siemens metering hardware and software have been installed in the buildings in Region 8. The gas and water metering systems must be compatible with this software. Siemen's software is proprietary and unavailable for use to other potential offerors. It would not be cost effective to remove the software and hardware of Siemen's to allow for competition for the entire system.
