Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a total small business set-aside set for the repairs to the Slason Bridge, located in the Winhall Brook Campground, Londonderry, Vermont. The NAICS code for the work described below is 237310. The project is planned to be issued in July 2015 as a Small Business Lowest Bid award. The construction will extend over several months during the fall of 2015, and site work cannot start until the end of the camping season in October 2015. Cost will be in $200,000 to $400,000 range. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. This project consists of the following components: -Remove and dispose of the existing wooden deck, nailers, bridge curb, and scupper blocks -Remove and replace all stringers with new galvanized W10x26 (Gr 50) beams and install a mid-span channel diaphragm -De-lead, sandblast and repaint the four existing floorbeams -Install new nailers on steel stringers -Install new 4 quote mark thick timber deck, new timber wheel tread planking, new bridge curb, and new scupper blocking Contractor should note that work on the bridge will require fall protection. Additionally, the paint on the floorbeams and stringers which was not removed during the 1996 de-leading effort because of lack of access should be considered to be lead-containing. Removing the old paint from the floorbeams will require additional shrouding requirements and personal protective equipment. The old stringers have lead-containing paint on them, so disposal will require appropriate permits. Please note this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses under the applicable NAICS code 237310. This is not a request for proposals at this time, the solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about July, 2015. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation, offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the New England District. Additional questions may be emailed to the Contract Specialist, Kimberly Pumyea at kimberly.b.pumyea@usace.army.mil.
