- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) in support of Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i)) with Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc., 1380 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA, for the procurement of specialized labware, DNA template modification reagents, and polymerase preparation kits for operation of the PacBio RSII DNA methylation detection system. Specifically, the government will purchase the following items for direct application of samples to the PacBio RSII platform for operation: SMRTbell(TM) Template Prep Kit 1.0 4EA DNA/Polymerase Binding Kit P6 v2 4EA DNA Sequencing Bundle 4.0 (10 Pack) 1EA SMRT Cell 8Pac V3 (8 Cells) 10EA Ampure PB, 5 mLs 1EA MagBead Kit 1EA DNA Internal Control Complex (P6) 1EA Tube Septa (20 Pack) 1EA Sample Plate Septa 1CASE Sample Plate 1CASE Mixing Plate (40 Pack) 1CASE Pipet Tips (50 Pack) 1CASE These items will specifically (1) allow the PacBio RSII instrument to generate average nucleic acid read lengths of 10kB or greater and inform the Multi-drug Resistance and Surveillance Network (MRSN) of antibiotic resistance organisms to support the presidential quote mark Combat Antimicrobial Resistance of Bacteria (CARB) quote mark mandate. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 325413 and the size standard is 500 employees. This announcement constitutes the only notice by the government; a written solicitation will not be issued. All sources that believe they are eligible to provide these items must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide the items outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered an affirmative response.. This Special Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. If no written responses are received by the date listed below, which reflects fifteen (15) days after the publication of this notice, the purchase will be awarded without further remark. All questions and responses concerning this notice shall be emailed to Ms. Lisa Zarick at dawn.v.jennings.civ@mail.mil. Interested concerns must identify their capability in writing to the above e-mail address or by mail to the address listed below no later than 3:00 pm EST, Friday, July 3, 2015.
