Description
The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (ASA)ALT is seeking physical hardware/networking models to evaluate the technical feasibility of a Deployable Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) Infrastructure (DDI) capability. The DDI support Cyber Protect Teams (CPTs) providing active maneuver defense to respond quickly to suspected or anticipated threat activity. The goal of the challenge event is for the selected awardee(s) to deliver hardware based pilot/prototype DDI capability allowing operational evaluation of the technical feasibility of the capability across the various mission areas. As part of the Global mission in cyberspace operations, Defensive Cyberspace Operations within key cyber terrain is conducted by a maneuver defense force that offers commanders quick reaction, cyber defense reinforcement, and security enhancement capabilities. The globally arrayed cyber defenders are applied to three lines of operation: Defend the Nation, Protect the DoD Information Network, and Combatant Command (CCMD) Support. For the purpose of this requirement, the mention of global cyber defenders will refer primarily to be those aligned to CCMD and Service retained missions. The Army provides these global cyberspace defenders by way of CPTs that operate within friendly networks and are organized to perform one of five key cyber defensive mission functions, mission protection, discovery and counter infiltration, cyber threat emulation, inspection, and cyber support. The requirement will be released through the Consortium for Command, Control, Communications and Computer Technologies (C5) on 19 June 2015 with vendor responses expected on/before 20 July 2015. Membership in C5 is required in order to participate in the demonstration. For information on the C5 and/or how to become a member, visit the following website: http://c5technologies.org/. This is not a Request for Proposals or Request for Quote, but for planning purposes only. A contract award will not be made from this announcement. The purpose of this announcement is to provide members of the C5, and industry in general, advanced notification of Government intent.
