- Description
- The Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) and negotiate a contract on a sole-source basis to Charles Stark Draper Laboratory (CSDL) Cambridge, MA. This procurement will provide for the effort and oversight to procure the TRIDENT II, Life Extension (LE) production materials and circuit card assemblies repair and upgrades. CSDL is the prime contractor responsible for the development, production and fleet support of TRIDENT II MK 6 Guidance Systems. CSDL is the prime contractor responsible for the development of these complex, application-specific devices and subassemblies. This effort will begin on 01 February 2016 and final delivery shall end on 30 April 2019. Award will be made using other than full and open competition to CSDL, Cambridge, MA, the only source with unique facilities and personnel expertise required for this program. An Award Notice will be publicized, along with the supporting Justification and Approval for Other Than Full and Open Competition (J&A), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 5.301, 5.303, and 6.305 under separate notice. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all responses received within fifteen days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
