Description

This announcement is to provide notice that the Department of Veteran Affairs, West Haven, CT intends to award sole source procurement to COAPT, LLC for the procurement of a two (2) Pattern Recognition Controllers with associated engineering work. This acquisition is part of the DEKA advanced prosthetic arm program of the VA and DARPA for intuitive control of muscle signals using advanced pattern recognition. Natural intentions are what guide the prosthesis. COAPT is the only company offering this technology. The award is based upon a valid Sole Source Justification and FAR 6.032-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Anticipated vendor for award and contract information is as follows: COAPT LLC, 222 W. Ontario St., Suite 220, Chicago IL 60654; DUNS 078505297. This is a special notice only and is NOT a solicitation. However the government will consider responses submitted on or before 4:30 PM EST July 6, 2015. Submit to Carl Langer, Contract Officer, carl.langer@va.gov. All communication, including questions, must be in by email. Any response must provide clear and concise documentation supporting an offerors' bona fide capability to provide these items. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive requirement is in the best interest of the government.
