Description
Photos and Dimensions of the Laboratory STATEMENT OF WORK Fuels Laboratory Renovation (99 LRS) Overview: Replacement of cabinets of the fuels laboratory and adding new stainless steel cabinets (above and below), black epoxy resin counters. The sizes are segregated below. LOCATION: The project site is located at the Fuels Laboratory, building 814 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The main base is located approximately nine miles northeast of Las Vegas on Highway 93 (Las Vegas Boulevard). DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Contractor shall ensure all the work area is clean and presentable at the end of each workday. All equipment and debris must be removed from the facility at the end of the business day Mon-Fri at 4:00 pm. All work shall be completed within 3 weeks after work commences. salvate Work hours: Mon-Fri 6:00 am - 4:00 pm. This work period shall be coordinated in advance with the Contracting Officer so that it minimally impacts mission requirements within the fuels laboratory. Fuels Laboratory There is a requirement for below cabinets that stretch along wall #1 and wall #2. These below cabinets will have a mix of drawers and doors. Inside the doors will have pull-out shelves that are capable of holding 60 pounds. Below the countertops will have drawers and then doors under. The dimensions will be 39" high with a depth of 24". The cabinets will be stainless steel and the doors will close using magnets. The countertops will be made of black epoxy resin and will have a 5" backsplash behind every countertop. The above cabinets will have a height of 24" with a depth of 15". These cabinets will only be placed on wall #2. Wall #3 will have above cabinets with a height of 24" and depth of 15". The doors will be made of glass to showcase the glassware that is used for the laboratory. Wall #4 will need above and below cabinets with the black epoxy resin on both sides of the fume hood. They will be the same dimensions as the other cabinets. The left side of the hood will have below cabinets that will hide the plumbing to the sink. The above cabinet will be the same dimensions as the other walls. The right side of the fume hood will have a floating drawer with counter top. The above cabinet will be the same dimensions as the other walls. BASE REGULATIONS: Contractor employees and visitors are subject to the same restrictions as are government personnel. Smoking: Smoking is permitted in designated, outside smoking areas only. No smoking will be allowed within any base facility. Seatbelts: The use of seatbelts by all vehicle operators and passengers is mandatory on Nellis AFB and in the state of Nevada. On Nellis AFB, vehicle operators and passengers caught not wearing their seatbelt will be issued a traffic citation and may lose their on-base diving privileges. Additionally, the use of cell phones is restricted to only hands-free devices. Firearms/Illegal Drugs: No firearms or illegal drugs are allowed to be brought onto Nellis AFB. By accepting a vehicle pass, each person gives their consent to a search of their vehicle while it is entering, on, or leaving Nellis AFB. Speed Limit: The speed limit on base is 25 MPH; in base housing areas it is 15 MPH; and in parking lots it is 5 MPH. Parking: Contractor vehicles and equipment will be parked in common parking areas or as otherwise approved in writing by the Contracting Officer. Security: Physical Security: The contractor shall provide physical security for the materials and work under his control. If the contractor elects to provide security personnel the following must be adhered to: Security Personnel: Contractor security personnel will not carry weapons on base (including MACE and night sticks). It is the responsibility of the contractor to notify security police, through the contracting officer, or security personnel who will be in the area. Communications: In accordance with Air Force Instruction 33-211, all communications with DOD organizations are subject to communications security (COMSEC) review. Contractor personnel will be aware telephone communications networks are continually subject to intercept by unfriendly intelligence organizations. The DOD has authorized the military departments to conduct COMSEC monitoring and recording of telephone calls originating from, or terminating at, DOD organizations. Therefore, civilian contractor personnel are advised any time they place a call to, or receive a call from, a USAF organization, they are subject to COMSEC procedures. The contractor will assume the responsibility for ensuring wide and frequent dissemination of the above information to all employees. SAFETY AND ACCIDENT PREVENTION: General: Compliance with the current U.S. Army Corps of Engineers "Safety and Health Requirements Manual", EM 3851-1-1; Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Public Law 1910 and 1926; Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH) standards, and current Nellis AFB safety regulations is mandatory. The prime Contractor shall be held responsible to insure that his/her workforce and any subcontractor or supplier workforce comply with the above safety requirements. Personnel Safety: Adequate protection of all persons shall be provided at all times. Work shall proceed in a manner to prevent hazard. Safety Briefings: Contractors operating on base will be responsible to brief and ensure their employees, subcontractors, and suppliers comply with all traffic rules and regulations as well as entry procedures. Nellis AFB Security Police: All instructions given by Security Police personnel will be complied with immediately. All on-base traffic rules are contained in Air Force Regulation 125-14, Motor Vehicle Traffic Supervision. Equipment and Tools: Equipment to be used on the project shall be safe and in good operating condition. The Contracting Officer reserves the right to inspect any on-base equipment and reject such equipment if he/she considers it unsafe, in poor operating condition, or inappropriate for work.
