Description

This announcement is to provide notice that the Department of Veteran Affairs, West Haven, CT intends to award sole source procurement to CyberGlove Systems for the procurement of a CyberTouch 18-sensor CyberGlove with associated software. This acquisition is part of the BrainGate research program to create a neural interface system to provide control and independence for Veterans, and other individuals, with paralysis or limb loss. CyberGlove is the only system that is compatible and meets the requirements for use with the Project BrainGate existing research equipment. The award is based upon a valid Sole Source Justification and FAR 6.032-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Anticipated vendor for award and contract information is as follows: CyberGlove Systems LLC, 2157 O'Toole Avenue Suite 20, San Jose, CA 95131; DUNS 014521189. This is a special notice only and is NOT a solicitation. However the government will consider responses submitted on or before 4:30 PM EST July 6, 2015. Submit to Carl Langer, Contract Officer, carl.langer@va.gov. All communication, including questions, must be in by email. Any response must provide clear and concise documentation supporting an offerors' bona fide capability to provide these items. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive requirement is in the best interest of the government.
