- Description
- The Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA), on behalf of the CSOSA Re-entry and Sanctions Center, intends to acquire Therapeutic and Recreational Support Services, leisure skills assessment and programming activities for offenders/defendants that are assigned to CSOSA's Re-entry and Sanctions Center (RSC, hereinafter referred to as the Government) The Contractor shall provide Non Personal Services and all necessary labor, materials, and supplies needed to provide therapeutic recreational and leisure skills assessment and programming activities for offenders/defendants that are assigned to CSOSA's Re-entry and Sanctions Center (RSC, hereinafter re f erred to as the Government) in accordance with the requirements specified herein, on a fixed priced basis. RSC recreational services are designed to support the physical, mental and emotional well-being of the RSC residents. Therapeutic activities are designed to help individuals reduce depression, stress and anxiety, as well as reduce or eliminate the effects of their addiction and/or mental illness. Recreation therapy and leisure skills a ctivities may include: callisthenic routines; instruction in relaxation techniques to reduce stress and tension; stretching and limbering exercises; education on proper body mechanics for participation in recreational activities; pacing and energy conservation techniques; and other individual and team activities, as deemed appropriate for the population being s erved. Activities shall be designed to develop specific recreational skills, while providing opportunities for exercise, mental stimulation, creativity, and fun. When planning activities, the Contractor shall ensure that interventions are suited to the various residents' physical and mental capabilities. The contractor may emphasize one or a combination of recreational activities, such as craft, sport, movement, yoga, meditation, etc. in their approach. These types of recreational activities are used to complement traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy, and other behavioral interventions. The Government anticipates scheduling up to 1,092 therapeutic recreational activity sessions and 20 recreational and leisure skills assessments (when requested by the Government) per year.
