- The National Park Service, Olympic National Park, intends to issue a Request for Quotations, for a contractor to install and finish drywall in the Hoh Apartments Building 916 (consisting of 4 apartments and laundry room). Work includes supplying, installing, finishing, and texture, of gypsum wallboard including all walls, ceilings, and two attic access doors. The NPS will remove all existing fixtures and furnishings prior to contractor starting work. In addition, under separate contract for design/install of a sprinkler system, that contractor will have removed all drywall throughout the residence in order to install the sprinkler system. A floor plan and as-built drawings will be included as attachments to the solicitation. Note: The approximate quantities are 5,300 square feet of walls and 2,000 square feet of ceiling. Additionally, contractor is to construct a two-hour rated fire wall between apartments 2 and 3, in accordance with IBC 706.3.9. There is drywall partition now in the attic that consists of one layer of 1/2-inch drywall with an access hatch. An additional ceiling access will be installed in unit three in addition to the existing attic access in the storage room. SITE VISIT. An organized site visit will be scheduled for this project. The details of the site visit will be provided in Section L of Solicitation Attachment no. 2, Terms and Conditions. Offerors are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit, to inspect the site, and to satisfy themselves regarding the conditions that may affect the cost of the products and performance. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. The physical address of the building will be provided in the solicitation. Generally speaking, the Hoh Apartment is located in the developed area of the Hoh Rainforest sub-district of Olympic National Park, within Clallam County, WA. PROJECT SCHEDULE. The period of performance for this project will be from November 4 ¿ 18, 2015. Work hours will not be restricted. The contractor shall be mobilized on-site and ready to begin work on November 4th. Contractor shall plan and execute the work such that final inspection will occur prior to the completion date so that contractor will have time to complete any identified punch list items after final inspection, so that all work of the contract will be completed with no remaining punch list items by November 18, 2015. Interested parties that will be submitting a quote are hereby forewarned that the period of performance is mandatory, and is NOT negotiable prior to or after award. The Government intends to make award within 5 to 7 business days after the solicitation closes. SET ASIDE. This project is being solicited and awarded as a total (100%) Economically Disadvantaged Woman/Women Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) set-aside in accordance with FAR 19.15. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 238310 with an associated small business size standard of $15 million. The magnitude of construction for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. This magnitude is required to be disclosed in accordance with FAR 36.204, however, this is NOT the Government ¿s Estimate, and the Government Estimate may fall anywhere within this range. A single firm-fixed price construction contract will be awarded as a result of the solicitation.
