Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a total small business set aside for EPDM roof replacement, building 14, Natick Soldier Systems Center (NSSC), Natick, Massachusetts. The NAICS code for the work described below is 238160. The project is planned to be issued in July-August 2015 as a Small Business Lowest Bid award. Estimated cost will range between $100,000 and $500,000. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. This project consists of the following components: The work of this project consists of the full replacement of the existing EPDM roofing system with new materials and the installation of a new lightning protection system for Building 14 at the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center (USASSC) in Natick, Massachusetts. The existing roofing system on Building 14 is composed of tapered insulation, wood decking, wood blocking, fully adhered EPDM material, and associated items installed over a concrete roof deck, on three separate roof levels. Roof demolition work involves full depth removal of the existing roofing system down to the concrete deck. The new EPDM roof system installed over the existing concrete deck shall have an average value R=40, extruded polystyrene board (XPS) insulation with quote mark minimum thickness roof membrane substrate. All roof layers shall be adhered as per manufacturer requirements to withstand uplift pressure and other load conditions. Additional roof work includes the furnishing and installation of new roof walk mats and new aluminum ladder for roof access from ground level with a secure door, plus two shorter ladders between the upper and lower roofs. The lightning protection system work involves providing a UL Listed and Master Labeled lightning protection system. The lightning protection system shall be provided for the entire roof structure and shall include, but not be limited to, air terminals, main conductor, down conductors, ground rods, and all connections. Connections shall be made to the existing support masts for the security system equipment and the existing HVAC equipment located on the roof. The lightning protection system shall be designed in accordance with NFPA 780, quote mark Standard for the Installation of Lightning Protections Systems quote mark, the National Electrical Code, and all other applicable Federal, State and local codes. Please note this solicitation is set aside for certified small businesses under the applicable NAICS code 238160. This is not a request for proposals at this time, the solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about July-August, 2015. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation, offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
