Description
A.Description The Treatment and Branch Support, of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) proposed to procure a Eyelink 1000 Plus MRI-Compatible System for The National Center for Complementary and Integrative (NCCIH) from SR Research Ltd., 35 Beaufort Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K2L 2B9. B.Background The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) is the Federal Government's lead agency for scientific research on complementary and alternative medicine. C.Requirement NCCIH's Section for Affective Neuroscience and Pain requires systems for monitoring, collecting, and analyzing high quality physiological data in response to pain, emotion, and arousal while collecting neuroimaging data in the MRI environment. Pupil dilation is an important physiological measure that can index arousal, attention, and cognitive effort. In addition, eye gaze measurements are known to determine attention and have recently been shown to contribute to decision-making. Pupil and eye-tracking data must be collected in a reliable manner and must be simultaneously synched with stimulus presentation. Equipment Specifications: •Noninvasive physiological (eye-tracking and pupillometry) monitoring system •Non-magnetic, and compatible with MRI environment including MRI compatible fiber optic cables •Optimized for use in 3T Siemens Skyra scanners with 20- and 32-channel head coils •Ability to record data through Experiment Builder stimulus delivery program, which is used for our lab's experiments •Ability to be mounted either in scanner bore or on Screen •Contains two distinct eye trackers operating with the same hardware •Ability to synchronize presentation of stimuli with the timing of physiological recording (Experiment Builder and DataViewer programs). This will allow the researcher to synchronize data presentation with eye gaze and analyze data as a function of the stimulus being presented. •Ability to synchronize stimulus delivery and eye-gaze, visualize data with eye position data overlaid on visual stimuli, and format data easily for statistical analysis. The system can send and receive TTL pulses to synchronize with other experimental apparati (e.g. pain stimuli or visual stimuli from other software packages). •System should include the necessary hardware, cables, and stimulus delivery systems for each function. D.Proposed Source SR Research Ltd., 35 Beaufort Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K2L 2B9. E.Capability Statements This is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. However, if any other interested party believes that it can meet the requirements it may submit a statement of capabilities. The capability statement and any other information furnished must be in writing, and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NCI to determine if the party can meet all of the foregoing requirements. Offers must also be accompanied by descriptive literature, warranties, and/or other information that demonstrates that the offer meets all of the foregoing requirements. Capability Statements and related materials must be received by the Contracting Officer, Dawn Albertini, by 8:00 a.m. EST, July 27, 2015. Dawn.Albertini@NIH.gov The determination to compete (or not compete) the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. F.Warranty The Eyelink 1000 Plus MRI Components must have a minimum warranty period of two (2) years, including parts and labor. G.Delivery Delivery shall be made F.O.B. Destination, inside delivery, no later than 90 days after contract award to: National Institutes of Health Building 10 CRC, Room 4-1741 10 Convent Drive Bethesda, MD 20892 If you have any specific questions, please submit them in writing to Dawn.Albertini@NIH.gov H.Other Information SR Research ltd. is the only party known to NCI that can meet the above requirements. All capabilities statements must be inclusive of all fees (including shipping / handling / customs fees)
