- Performance Work Statement (PWS) NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE 700 CONS/LGCA on behalf of the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE)/Air Forces Africa (AFAFRICA)/A6, Directorate of Communications hereby formally announce the intent to award a firm-fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Carahsoft Technology Corporation. This purchase is for VMWare/Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Support described as follows: The contractor shall, with government approval and in accordance with government defined procedures, provide knowledge transfer and advocate training where required to develop a cadre of technicians able to act independently as required to maintain the SVM/VDI. The contractor shall perform on-site coordination of service-related tasks and on-site visits with USAFE-AFAFRICA and 83 NOS Det 4 site personnel, VMware resources, and 3rd-party manufacturer personnel as required in support of the AF enterprise in the USAFE-AFAFRICA theatre. The contractor shall provide for the on-going communications effort for plan, support, administer, design, deploy, integrate, architect, and troubleshoot the Server Virtualization Management (SVM) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms from VM Ware (vSphere with Operations Manager/ESXi/Horizon View) used in support of the MAJCOM/DOD initiative to reduce the overall server footprint of USAFE-AFAFRICA services and Information Technology (IT) supporting solutions. This encompases the non-personal services support for existing operational Enterprise SVM/VDI to encompass the design, pilot, planning, implementation, optimization, sustainment, incident/problem resolution, and the implementation of future SVM/VDI products and/or capabilities related to the USAFE-AFAFRICA theater storage and virtualization environments and their interoperability with AF-wide enterprise capabilities. The contractor shall provide resources with access to VMware's internal support network as well as VMware's industry partnerships with Microsoft, EMC, Cisco, Brocade, and DataDomain to provide one-stop support. This notice of intent is NOT a request for quote; however, all interested persons that identify to the Contracting Officer their intent and capabilities to satisfy the Government's requirement and are received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
