- Intent to Sole Source - HYDROGEL The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to issue sole-source firm-fixed priced contract to Biocompatibles, Inc., 115 Hurley Rd STE 3A, Oxford, CT 06478-1046. A sole source procurement will be issued to Biocompatibles Inc. because they are the only vendor with the capability of providing the unique products needed for direct patient care. Due to the specialized nature of the product it must be provided by a company with the ability to provide an exact match for what is being requested. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b)(2), "soliciting from a single source." The NAICS code is 339112 and has a size standard of 500 employees for this procurement. SCOPE OF WORK: The Robley Rex VA Medical Center (VAMC) has a significant need for a vendor to provide an exact match for the supplies requested under the section labled equipment. EQUIPMENT: Supplies to be delivered includes the following: Description: Particle, Embolization, Polyvinyl Alcohol Based Hydrogel, 100-300 Microns, Yellow, 2 ML, Microsphere, LC Bead, Sterile, In Buffered Saline. QTY: 15 EA Delivery: Robley Rex VAMC 800 Zorn Avenue Louisville, KY 40206 This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 12pm CST, August 18, 2015 to: kevin.cochran2@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Disclaimer and Important Notes: This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation synopsis and solicitation may be published in Federal Business Opportunities. However, responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation. Determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
