- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for the removal of FM-200 fire suppression systems from eight (8) SL-8500 tape storage libraries at the National Computer Center (NCC) in Baltimore, MD. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, The Fireline Corporation. This procurement is conducted on a sole source basis using the procedures at FAR Part 12 ? Acquisition of Commercial Items, in conjunction with FAR Part 13 ? Simplified Acquisition Procedures. A single firm-fixed price award resulting from a written request for quotation (RFQ) will be made, on or before 09/19/2015, to the responsible Offeror whose quote conforms to the solicitation and is most price advantageous to the Government. The Offeror is required to quote all line items included in this RFQ. All items shall be quoted on a firm-fixed-price basis. The Offeror is not authorized to add additional items. Refer to the attached documents for more information. If a site visit of the area is required by the Offeror, it shall be conducted by no later than 48 hours prior to the date and time indicated in Box 8 of the SF-1449. Please contact Larry Sneeringer by no later than 72 days in advance of the date and time indicated in Box 8 of the SF-1449 at Larry.Sneeringer@ssa.gov if you require a site visit of the area. Note: The agency is now using the FedConnect web portal. FedConnect provides a new channel of communication with SSA and other federal agencies that is both secure and auditable. It is SSA's intent, by introducing FedConnect, to streamline the process of doing business with SSA's acquisition office, saving both time and administrative effort. In addition, you can create teams within FedConnect to manage your response or award. The agency will continue to post procurement opportunities, as required, to FedBizOpps. Each of SSA's FedBizOpps postings will contain a link to the FedConnect web portal. Contractors should submit all responses to Requests for Quotes, Proposals, or Information to SSA using FedConnect.
