Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Sources Sought or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. (b) Although "proposal," "offeror," contractor, and "offeror" may be used in this sources sought notice, any response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) Any information received from a contractor in response to this Sources Sought may be used in creating a solicitation. Any information received which is marked with a statement, such as "proprietary" or "confidential," intended to restrict distribution will not be distributed outside of the Government, except as required by law. (d) This Sources Sought is issued for the purpose of collecting information about the availability of a Dishwashing Machine from different sources for the desired deliverable listed in the "Price/Cost Schedule" that meets the corresponding statement of work. (e) Contractors that feel they can provide the product are encouraged to submit a quote in response to this notice and/or email full information to Orville Landicho at Orville. Landicho@va.gov. "Contractors shall identify the NAICS code for the product being offered as well as their size status. "Contractors shall complete the "Price/Cost Schedule" for the purpose of market research. "Contractors shall furnish supporting documentation, which demonstrates that the proposed products meet or exceed the design specification. "Please respond no later than COB Friday 09/01/ 2015. ? Salient Characteristic: 6/15/2015 The technical POC will use the characteristics on this worksheet to determine if any alternate offers meet the government's requirements. To that end, please describe the essential characteristics of the brand name item that make it what the Government needs. Not all characteristics will necessarily apply (e.g.,do not include weight unless weight is actually important). Brand Name Item: 1)Essential/significant physical,functional,or performance characteristics. The contractor shall remove and dispose of the old dish washing machine and provide and install a new, single tank, corner operation dish washing machine for the food service kitchen (room All ) at the Community Living Center (CLC) at the Center for Aging (CFA), Department of Veterans Affairs, Center for Aging (CFA), 110 Krukowski Road, Building 110, Honolulu, HI,a 60-bed facility located on the grounds of Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii 96819. Installation includes disconnecting the dish tables from the old dishwasher, plumbing and electrical services for removal of the old dishwasher and installation of the new dish washer, connecting dish tables to new dishwashing unit and reconnection of the water heater booster. Dish tables should fit the opening of the new dishwasher or shall be modified to fit. Reconnecting the garbage disposal will be required if it was removed in the installation process. a)Compatibility - n/a b)Dimensions -n/a c)Weight- n/a d)Industry/Government Standard - n/a e)Purpose - The food service is in need of replacing the current high temperature, corner unit dish machine as it no longer is performing optimally thus increasing the risk of transmitting infection and disease between members of the resident population should proper sanitation no occur. f)Governing Body or Organization - n/a g)Other - 2)Complete generic identification - Food Service Dishwasher, door type, single tank, corner unit The dishwasher is a single tank, stationary rack, high temperature, 208v/60 amp/3 phase machine that can be operated in a corner. Entry into the wash unit will be from one direction and exit from the unit will be from another direction. Entry and exit into the unit shall not be from the same direction. Construction is stainless steel with a full perimeter frame and cast stainless wash arms. There will be a thermo overload protection and a magnetic starter. Other features will include a safety switch where the unit will not operate unless the door is in the closed position. It will have fully automatic operating controls for timed wash, rinse cycles. Thermometers will be in each wash tank and final rinse, and the temperatures will be easily visible to the operator. There is a balanced, revolving wash action above and below the ware. Front enclosure panel will be made of stainless steel. The cantilever hood will be without front corner posts which allows for completely flexible installation in straight-through, corner or u-shaped table arrangements. The tank and hood shall be of seamless welded construction. Tank heater should be electronic at 5 kW. Other items include but not limited to pre-plumbed and installed พ inch pressure regulator, shock arrestor, flow pressure gauge and line strainer to solenoid valve. The unit should have a door actuated start and be able to auto fill. Electric tank booster heater {8.5 KW) Shall be compatible with dish machine Installation to include removal/disposal of old unit, connect plumbing and electrical to new unit, connect dish tables and booster water heater to new unit Contractor shall remove/dispose of old unit, connect plumbing and electric to new unit, connect booster water heater and dish tables to new unit. Dishwasher will be fully functional and meet manufacturer and government standards for dishware sanitizing. 3) Applicable model/make/catalog number - 503-lC 4)Manufacturer name - Stero Performance Work Statement: A.1. DELIVERY: The contractor shall provide their own transportation vehicle and equipment (hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc) and tools to successfully transfer the ordered equipment and supplies to the designated site within the Community Living Center and to complete the installation. Drivers of the transportation vehicle shall have a current license to operate the vehicle. If forklifts are required for the delivery of goods, then the operator shall be certified. A.1.2. Miscellaneous: Contractor personnel shall not consume food, snack, drinks or tobacco products within the CLC. Unauthorized smoking, eating, theft or pilferage by contractor personnel shall constitute adequate cause for the Government to require the contractor immediately remove the offender(s) from employment at the Center for Aging premises for the duration of this contract. C.1. Quality Assurance: The Government or its representative will inspect the supplies delivered prior to acceptance for appropriate quality and quantity. After installation the new dish machine will be inspected for performance. Temperatures for the wash water shall be at 160 degrees F and the final rinse water 180-185 degrees. E.1.1. DESIGNATION OF CONTRACTING OFFICER'S REPRESENTATIVE (COR): A Representative of the Contracting Officer (COR) will be designated to represent the Contracting Officer in furnishing technical guidance and advice under this contract. The foregoing is not to be construed as authorization to interpret or furnish advice and information to Contractor relative to the financial or legal aspects of the contract. Those matters are the responsibility of the Contracting Officer and shall not be delegated. H.1. Supplies The Contractor shall be responsible to supply all the materials and tools to complete the installation of the dish machine and remove the old dish machine. I.1. INVOICING: All payments made under this contract will be made in arrears. No advance payments will be authorized. I.1.1. The invoice shall be itemized to show description of the product, product cost, transport service cost and any other additional costs. The grand total for the installation will be indicated at the bottom of the invoice. All invoices will reference the contract number. This is a firm fixed price contract. J.1 MODIFICATIONS: Any modification to the contract shall be in writing. VA's Contracting Officer prior to becoming effective will prepare the modification. L.1. SECURITY: The C&A requirements do not apply to this service requirement and a Security Accreditation Package is not required. Contractor personnel will have NO access to VA sensitive information in their work/service area. ?
