- Description
- The Naval Medical Logistics Command (NMLC) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR Part 13.501(a). The proposed source is Steris of 5960 Heisley Road, Mentor, OH 44060. Steris is providing preventive and corrective maintenance services for all Steris medical and dental equipment at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). NMLC plans to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for these maintenance services. The required maintenance includes regularly scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, calibrations, corrective maintenance tasks, and unlimited emergency repair actions on Steris medical and dental equipment. Steris is maintaining the equipment within the original manufacturer's specifications, in accordance with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations, U.S. Navy Regulations, instructions, and Joint Commission requirements. This bridge is being put in place until a larger five (5) year requirement is competed and awarded. The period of performance for the bridge contract will be for six (6) months with six (6) one month option periods. It is not in the Government's best interest to have a lapse in coverage for preventive and corrective maintenance services on medical and dental equipment. The bridge will minimize the risk to NMCSD of mission degradation if the equipment fails and cannot be timely repaired. Overall, maintenance contracts ensure that the end-users of the equipment are able and ready to provide the best possible care for the patient. Vendor shall be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized maintenance contractor for the proposed equipment/system such that OEM warranty and service are provided and maintained by the OEM. All software licensing, warranty and service associated with the equipment/system shall be in accordance with the OEM terms and conditions. If a vendor challenges the basis of this sole source requirement, please email product capability statements (formats for submission: PDF, MS Word, or MS Excel) to Brian Miller at brian.miller4@med.navy.mil. Any challenges should reference solicitation number: N62645-15-R-1027. Closing date for challenges is no later than 9:00am. ET on 16 September 2015. No phone calls will be accepted.
