- Description
- The US Forest Service, Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, awarded a single source contract to law enforcement dispatch service with Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon (ESCO911) in Central Point, Oregon. The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest includes lands within six counties in Oregon-Coos, Curry, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath counties and Del Norte and Siskiyou counties in California. The standard within the state of Oregon for Forest Service Law Enforcement is to utilize local dispatch centers. Dispatching Rogue River Siskiyou law enforcement officers via ECSO911 would provide officers with experienced dispatchers, and provide direct communications between the forest deputies (cooperative law enforcement agreement) and Forest Law Enforcement Officers. The selected dispatch center must have police dispatching capability, including access to: National Crime Data Base (NCIC), State of Oregon Criminal Data Base (LEDS), and access to DMV records, including registered owners of vehicles and driver's license information. The dispatch center must have the capability to access secure warrant information within multiple judicial districts. This action is taken pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 1901 as implemented by FAR 13.106(1)(b)(i), only one source reasonably available will satisfy the agency requirement.
