Description
Solicitation & Specifications This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quote (RFQ) is for the modification and relocating the existing four Hydraulic Power Units that service the hydraulic motors at the Chicago Lock, and one spare Hydraulic power unit, heretofore known as HPUs, located on-site per the specifications provided. The project consists of physically relocating and refitting 4 hydraulic Power Units, and one spare HPU that control the opening and closing of the Chicago Harbor Lock at Navy Pier located in downtown Chicago. Currently, moisture is infiltrating the hydraulic system. This modification to the existing design will require the relocating the units, and the incorporation of a desiccant filter to eliminate the moisture problem. Additionally, the contractor will provide a platform and a weatherproof cover for the units per the specifications and drawings. The contractor is to provide all management, labor, supplies, supervision, transportation, tools, materials and equipment necessary to perform the work outlined in the Scope of Work at the Chicago Lock. All work shall be performed in strict compliance with the attached specifications and all other terms, clauses, and conditions incorporated herein. NOTE: THE COMPETITION METHOD FOR THIS RFQ IS UNRESTRICTED SUBJECT TO FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION. The NAICS code for this procurement is 811310 (size standard is $7,500,000.00). The solicitation will be available on the web only. Telephone and FAX requests for this solicitation will not be honored.
