- Notice of Intent to Sole Source The US Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 3), James J. Peters VA Medical Center, Bronx, New York, intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c) (1) (FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.), to Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, 515 N. ST STE 2000, Chicago, IL 60610-2000. This action will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract with a period of performance of twelve months, plus four option periods. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. There will be no solicitation available for competitive quotes. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Respondents should reference VA243-15-N-1520-Notice of Intent. Responses to this notice shall include company/individual name, a service capability statement, including examples of similar facilities for which services have been provided, proof of applicable OEM certifications to provide services on the equipment, DUNS number, address, point of contact and social-economic category (ex: SBVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, EDWOSB, Small Business).Determination not to compete this proposed contract upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. If no viable responses have been received by the closing date of September 15, 2015 at 4:00 pm E.T., the Government shall negotiate solely Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. REQUIRED SERVICES: ACGME Program Fees Academic Year 15-16 Statement of Work A.General Information 1.Title of Project: Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education program professional fees Scope of Work: Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education 1. Our Internal Medicine and Hospice/Palliative Medicine, which is based at the James J. Peters VAMC, 130 W. Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, Ny10468 and as well as all other medical programs in the Mt. Sinai school of Medicine Consortium are sponsored by the ACGME and these program fees will need to be paid in order to keep providing the programs to interested physicians who want to apply. 2. Background: The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) is a separately incorporated, non-governmental organization responsible for the accreditation of graduate medical education (GME) programs. Its mission is to improve healthcare and population health by assessing and advancing the quality of resident physicians' education through accreditation. Accreditation of residency programs and sponsoring institutions by the ACGME is a voluntary process of evaluation and review performed by a non-governmental agency of peers. Accreditation benefits the public, protects the interests of residents, and improves the quality of teaching, learning, research, and professional practice. The accreditation processes are designed to evaluate, improve, and publicly recognize programs and sponsoring institutions in GME that are in substantial compliance with standards of educational quality established by the ACGME. The ACGME has a twofold purpose: 1. To establish and maintain accreditation standards that promote the educational quality of residency and subspecialty training programs; and 2.
