- Description
- Description of the work: Design Build Sprinkler Replacement. The work for the primary project includes, but is not limited to, the replacement of the fire sprinkler system in Building 107 Bays 2, 3 and 4. That is all of building 107 with the exception of the north fire section. See attached drawing in part 6 of this contract. The project will require all site and survey work, engineering, design, materials, equipment and labor required to remove the existing dry sprinkler system and install new complete wet pipe sprinkler systems in the WSS portion of building 107 at NSA, Mechanicsburg, PA. The new sprinkler system must include coverage in the entire warehouse high bay area of the building and also have extension branches to cover inside of any interior office or storage spaces in the building. It will also include connecting the new sprinkler system to any existing alarm system in the building. Bay 2 has three areas that will take special attention and additional design. The 3 areas are a finished office area, an abandoned mechanical room and an electrical transformer room. See Sections 4 and 5 for more detail on these areas. Any exterior canopies, covered areas or loading docks shall have sprinkler coverage. The building is divided into 3 separate fire bays by concrete block fire walls. Each fire bay/sprinkler system will be completed and operational, including testing and certified for use before the next bay will be started.
