Description
The purpose of this amendment is to post additional questions and answers from potential offerors. If you have any questions you may contact Robert Woolfolk II, via email at robert.woolfolk3@va.gov or via telephone at 303-372-7025. Any additional questions or requests regarding this solicitation must be submitted via email to the contract specialist no later than 3:00 pm MDT on September 16, 2015. All the answers are bolded. 1.Is the intent for the vendor to provide 10Mbps minimum download total aggregated bandwidth for this service in all buildings, or per AP? 1.1.10Mbps bi-directional for all buildings 2.Where is the primary demarking for delivering ISP services? 2.1.IT server room attached to Building 1 has a metro-E hub installed, and the vendor could use that as Demark location for their internet service if desired. 3.Is their fiber available between bldg. 1 and buildings 6 and 20 for the vendor to utilize? 3.1.No Vender will be responsible for installation of all fiber and cable. 4.Is there a drawing with current IDF and fiber run locations? Is there room within the racks in the current IDF's to install the equipment? 4.1.Vendor is rewired to run new fiber and cable air gapped from current. 4.2.No current racks can be used. 5.Will all AP's require containment carts? 5.1.AP's 6.Given that there are multiple buildings, is the contractor responsible for any outside plant fiber? If so, can we receive the right of way and manhole drawings? Who will get permits for the outside plant? 6.1.Any permitting for work off VA property will be the responsibility of the vendor. All work done on VA property will be permitted by VA, vendor will be responsible for locating buried utilities. VA can provide manhole drawings to selected vendor. 7.Is the contractor responsible for supplying power within the IDF/MDF's? If so, can we receive drawings with power circuit and panel locations? 7.1. Vendor will be responsible for supply power if not already available from panel to location of hardware. VA electrician will coordinate locating power circuits and panels available. Power is available at panel on each floor of building. 8.What type of end-user authentication must be supported? AAA? Single Click with Terms and Conditions? 8.1.Some level of AAA is desired. Possibly a series of group/guest access similar to a hotel assigned to room numbers or floors. Exact user tracking will not be required, Possibly a token system could be explored. 9.Is this a new Wi-Fi network or part of an existing Wi-Fi network expansion? 9.1.New 10.What is the anticipated number of Wi-Fi end-users and devices in each building at peak hours? 10.1.Unknown at this time. Estimates between 2-8 in building 6 and 20 at any one time and between 20-40 in building one at any one time. 11.What is the intended use of this Wi-Fi service? Is this a patient/guest network or official/administrative network? 11.1.Patient/Guest and patient/Staff teaching completely separate from VA system. 12.Will this be a Free-to-guest service? 12.1.Yes 13.Will options be provided for end-users to subscribe for premium or enhanced levels of service? 13.1.No 14.Regarding Page 8 - Vendor will provide granular identity based filtering tailored to specific groups, at the direction of the VA COR or POC to exclude certain users and websites from all filtering. Vendor will provide ability to update content filtering at least monthly at the direction of VA COR or POC. 14.1.Can you provide estimated end-user counts for each building or area? 14.1.1.See above question 10. Numbers represent use at any one moment not total users with access 14.2.Can you provide estimated end-user counts for content filtering? 14.2.1.Total number of users per month in excess of 300 14.3.What will user identities or groups be based on? 14.3.1.Generic access provided to inpatient and select guests 14.4.Will this filtering be done based on SSID or MAC address, etc.? 14.4.1.Based upon website address or search engine results 14.5.Is each user to have a unique log-in? Will Radius/AAA authentication be used? 14.5.1.Each user will not require a log-on but the VA would like some level of AAA authentication similar to a hotel guest access to prevent cyber-squatting. Per Page 3, phase 3: "Vendor Engineers will install and configure proprietary appliances and perform the following tasks: oConfigure name, IP address, security levels on each interface oConfigure inbound/outbound NAT (if applicable) oConfigure ACLs oConnect ASA to LAN oConfigure primary and secondary ASAs oEnable LAN based failover "Vendor Engineers will install and configure switches and aggregator switch: oUpgrade to new IOS oVerify successful boot-up and operation oVerify logins are working oSet console and enable password per customer specification oSet system prompt per customer specification oSet system SNMP information per customer specification (location, contact, read/write strings) oConfigure interface IP addressing information per customer specification oConfigure VTP, ISL/802.1Q Trunking, Etherchannel, port fast, root ports, uplink fast, backbone fast, duplex ports as appropriate oConfigure VLANs per customer specification oVerify proper spanning tree configuration oEnsure the switch is transmitting and receiving relevant routing/switching information as applicable oVerify proper data network connectivity 15.What "proprietary appliances" is this referring to? Is the vendor to provide this equipment or configure GFE? 15.1.Vendor is to provide all hardware and software. All proprietary appliances are what vendor provides. 16.If vendor is to provide this equipment please provide a detailed hardware specification and configuration details. 16.1.Per vendor's proposed solution for Wi-Fi infrastructure 17.Is Cisco switches and aggregators being specified for this acquisition, as this section requires "IOS" to upgraded? 17.1.Vendor to identify solutions and hardware per their implementation plan 18.Is the requirement to provide Cisco Wireless Solution or is the equipment to be provided at the vendor's discretion? 18.1.Vendor discretion
