- Description
- Application Process Inspection Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Subject: Synopsis of Inspection Provider Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) To:Interested Parties The purpose of the MOU is to provide a general framework for a Provider to perform mechanical and compliance inspections of fire equipment/apparatus working under Region 6 US Forest Service Virtual Incident Procurement (VIPR) Agreements. Under the terms of this MOU, members of the Pacific Northwest Wildfire Coordination Group (PNWCG) and the Provider propose to form a partnership whereby the Provider agrees to perform inspections of fire equipment/apparatus owned by contractors working under the Region 6 US Forest Service VIPR Agreements. PNWCG agrees to recognize the equipment inspections completed by the Provider if done in accordance to the terms and conditions of the MOU. This will assist the Forest Service to insure contractor provided fire equipment/apparatus meets the minimum safety and agreement standards required in the Region 6 US Forest Service VIPR agreements. Providers will work directly with the owner/operators of the fire equipment to schedule inspections. The provider is responsible to cover all personal expenses to properly conduct inspections. Providers will determine inspection fee amount and collect payment for inspection service from the owner/operators of the fire equipment. Inspector qualifications, inspection reporting and documentation requirements can be found along with the full terms and conditions of the MOU in the attached document. Selected Providers are required to attend a 1 day Inspection Workshop that will be held prior to the 2016 fire season and will be notified of the exact date, time and location in advance of the workshop. MOU applications must be received by close of business October 23, 2015. Submit by email to fact@fs.fed.us or by mail to Redmond Air Center, Fire Contract Operations, 1740 SE Ochoco Way, Redmond, OR 97756. Providers will be notified of selection by November 6, 2015. For additional information, please contact Katie Mergel or Ron George at 541-504-7380, or via email at fact@fs.fed.us.
