Description

This is a Sources Sought announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Division, Des Moines Regional Office, Des Moines, IA, is conducting market research to determine the existence of companies that can perform the following: "The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supplies and supervision necessary to complete residential home modification consistent with meeting the independent living needs of a disabled Veteran "Work to be performed includes the modification of the Kitchen and Living Room areas. Removal of the existing electric furnace and A/C condenser and replace with new system to accommodate existing 2,400 square feet of the residence in addition to an additional proposed finished space of 1,20 square feet in the garage. Provide a new minimum 5 ton heat pump conditioning system with minimum 20k air handler hearing element backup to service the existing house and new conversion. Provide new concrete pad on outside of residence, all wiring and switches and a new 200A gas powered generator to provide adequate back up power to allow the uninterrupted use of a platform lift during power outages. All modifications made to the bathroom must be ADA complaint. "This project is estimated between $25,000.00 - $47,000.00 and is not a design build project. The Government's estimated construction time for the project is 120 days. This based on the most current information available to date. Updated information will be posted electronically on Federal Business Opportunities as it becomes available. Place of Performance: Donnellson, Iowa The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this work is 236118 and the small business size standard is $33.5M. The Government anticipates award of a firm fixed price contract. The project will be considered for sole-sourced to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned firms based on the response to this notice and extensive market research. Any interested and qualified sources are requested to provide a brief capabilities statement and a letter of interest. As part of your capability statement please include any current or past contracts you have been awarded or the ability to obtain sufficient proof of capability for this type of contract. In addition, contractors must be bonded and provide proof of licensure. Please include what socio-economic category your company qualifies as (i.e. Small Business, SBA Certified, HUB Zone Firm, SBA Certified Small Disadvantaged Business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Veteran Owned Business or Women Owned Business). Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), accessed via the Internet at https://www.sam.gov/portal/SAM/ and all SDVOSB/VOSB must be certified in Vetbiz www.vetbiz.gov. and have the appropriate NAICS code listed for this project. All information provided is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response to Sources Sought Notice.
