This is a system including computer, software, installation and training which works with the Virtra V-180 Firearms Simulator purchased in FY14 for $178K. This will allow the DPG DES to produce custom scenarios made from panoramic images taken on the installation to assist with training of police officers and ACP Security Guards. less than br greater than c. Reason for Authority Cited: Virtra V-Author software and hardware for the Virtra V-180 simulator is sold and installed exclusively by Virtra Systems. They have no authorized dealers or agents for their products in the United States other than them. Market Research: Market research was conducted by internet, phone contact, and in person when the Virtra installed the V-180 Firearms Simulator. Previous market research was conducted via the internet for a firearms simulator with multiple companies listed on GSA Advantage and the award was given to Virtra. Virtra has several add-ons and improvements that can be implemented into the V-180 simulator but they are a sole source vendor. Market research into the simulator systems and all products associated with them started in May 2014 and has continued through present. less than br greater than less than br greater than Additional information to support the justification: As stated above the Dugway Proving Ground DES purchased via MICC the Virtra Systems V-180 Firearms Simulator in FY14 (W911S6-14-F-0041). This system had a total cost of $178K and has been in use for approximately 6 months. This system is upgradeable in many ways; however, the company is sole source when selling their products. The V-Author product allows the DES to create custom scenarios of locations that are familiar with the officers. Pre-loaded scenarios that came with the original system are of locations that do not include any Dugway Proving Ground visual scenarios. less than br greater than less than br greater than 10.
