- The FAA has cancelled the previously announced award, DTFAWA-15-D-00007, and intends to issue a new Screening Information Request/Request for Proposal (SIR/RFP) to satisfy the FAA requirement for thermal flight strip printers in late 2015 to early 2016. Prospective offerors can reference previous solicitation, DTFAWA-14-R-00020, for more information on the requirement however the FAA may make revisions to some portions of the document before publishing the new SIR/RFO. Based on previous market surveys and the competition, the FAA has decided to conduct a tiered evaluation in the new competition pursuant to AMS guidance T3.2.2(A)(9). The competition is expected to have two tiers; the first tier being reserved for small businesses and the second tier, if necessary, being full and open. This announcement is not a Screening Information Request (SIR) or a Request for Offer (RFO) of any kind. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred. Any cost associated with this announcement or future solicitation is solely at the interested parties expense.
