Description
Amendment #1 W911N2-15-Q-0012 Posting of Questions & Answers Please note that the due date for responses has not changed. Responses are due 11/30/2015 10:00 A.M. Eastern Standard Time and the period for questions is now closed. Please note the following: Question Number #1: Are all racks free-standing (2 upright frames per unit)? Answer Number #1: Yes. The racks are a single unit which includes 2 uprights, 6 shelf bars and 6 wire mesh deck covers. Question Number #2: In the specification, it stated 2 x 4 mesh wire decks. The industry standard is 2 ½ x 4 mesh. Would this be acceptable? Answer Number #2: Yes. Question Number #3: Please advise if the 95 pallet racks are all individual freestanding or if these will create rows, allowing us to use the same upright for accompanying bays. If so, I would need a layout. Answer Number #3: No adjoining racks. The Government is requesting 95 standalone units. Question Number #4: Industry standard is beams, vertically, free formed rack on 2 inch centers, vertical lifts not three inch as identified in the specs. Answer Number #4: Acceptable; as long as it safely supports an 18,000 pound rack capacity. It must be wide enough to support the 18,000 rack capacity and this weight bearing requirement must be guaranteed with a money back option if an offer is made using the 2 inch center. We do not want to compromise the strength integrity of the racks with a deviation to our specifications on because our requirement requires a slightly larger center to compensate for the weight bearing required. Question Number #5: Clarify, are these free standing racks or formed racks; and do they require installation? Answer Number #5: We requested 95, 18,000 pound capacity, standalone racks that will NOT require assembly or installation. We will assemble and secure the racks when they arrive at our facility. Question Number #6: Are the materials in this request required to be installed / assembled? Or is this a supply only, FOB destination? If installation is required can you provide a short narrative on the security requirements for access to your facility? Answer Number #6: No assembly or installation required. Delivery to building 3315, FOB Destination. No access to the installation is required by the vendor. Question Number #7: Will your receiving department receive the materials. Will your receiving department move the materials to the assembly area? Will the installation be clear for the complete installation of all 95 units, start to finish? Answer Number #7: The delivery point is Letterkenny Munitions Center Building 3315. No further access or delivery is required. Question Number #8: This type of upright, roll formed, are punched vertically on 2" centers. The 3" vertical punch is found on structural rack that uses bolt on beams. Structural rack is a totally different product line for different applications. Answer Number #8: The weight limit is 18,000 pounds per rack. The rack tiers should attach by slide and lock tabs. No hardware should be required for assembly. It has not been required in the past and should not be a factor, based on the specification outlined in the description for this purchase. Question Number #9: The wire deck specification calls for a wire grid pattern of 2"x 4". The industry standard is 2- 1/2"x 4" pattern. A 42"x 58" piece of wire decking with 6 ga. wire and (3) 14 ga. U-channel reinforcements yields 3,100 lb cab UDL. It the most economical specification to meet desired capacity with custom manufacturing. Is the 2-1/2"x 4" acceptable? Answer Number #9: Yes. Same as question #2.
