- JOTFOC The United States Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Centers, Long Range Enforcer - Contracts & Procurement Branch 2, Oakland, CA anticipates awarding SOLE SOURCE procurement to Walz and Krenzer, Inc. for the following supplies: 1. Complete Cargo Hatch per WK drawing D-WK-831-1. Assembly to include new panel, new frame/coaming assembly, and hydraulic actuators and components located on the hatch panel. Frame/coaming assembly to be supplied with select components that are prone to excessive corrosion made out of stainless steel. Qty: 01 2. Hydraulic Manifold Assembly per D-WK-831-6 Qty: 01 3. Electrical Logic Connection similar to Box D-WK-831-11 Qty: 01 Walz and Krenzer, Inc. is the only source of supply that manufactures the cargo hatch. This cargo hatch is engineered to allow the operator stay safe while using this heavy hydraulic cargo hatch. If another company would supply the cargo hatch differently the engineering process would need to be repeated to check for functionality. This cargo hatch is needed to keep the same configuration throughout the Coast Guard 225' buoy tender fleet. Any attempt to manufacture the listed item without the proper specifications, drawings, and technical data could cause a misalignment and damage the cargo hatch assembly. Any failure of a substituted item would jeopardize the engineering manufactured on the proprietary information. CGC Oak is a 225' buoy tendor. Vendor will provide all labor and parts listed in the Schedule. NAICS Code 332312 applies to this procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. No solicitation will be issued, however all responses received on/before 0800 AM PST 26NOV2015 will be reviewed by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
