Description
SYNOPSIS: This is a Request for Information (RFI) to identify services that more efficiently integrate and better serve Veterans who receive community provided care. VA is not, at this time, seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. All responses shall be solely in the form of information and materials. In addition, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will host an Industry Day event with one on one sessions for Care in the Community. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR OFFERS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS EVENT. This announcement serves as a notice and invitation to participate in this event, and is issued solely for information and planning purposes. The purpose of Industry Day is for VA to: (i) provide general information on a potential solicitation, (ii) share an overview of its current state of community care delivery, operations and requirements, (iii) outline its plans to expand and refine the use of community healthcare and operational resources in the future state, and (iii) solicit industry feedback. The city and date are listed below, the exact location will be provided through RSVP. Attendance is voluntary and not required for proposing to future potential solicitations. OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE: On October 30, 2015, VA submitted a report to Congress, titled "Plan to Consolidate Programs of Department of Veterans Affairs to Improve Access to Care." In the report, VA outlines its plans for transforming the way healthcare is delivered to America's Veterans. The purpose of Industry Day is to explore how partnering and contracting with healthcare industry vendors can help VA achieve its transformation goals. One such goal is to establish and maintain a high performing integrated network of VA and external community providers that provides coordinated care. VA will identify vendors that have the capability to establish and maintain the external community provider component of the integrated network in accordance with VA access standards. VA's transformation plan also recognizes that healthcare is an integrated and interoperable system of systems that support the delivery of care. Therefore, VA is exploring the availability of vendors to perform additional core functions (beyond providing an external community provider network) in collaboration with the VA and in a manner that enhances delivery of care, operations, and provider and Veteran satisfaction. These core functions include, but are not limited to: "Care Coordination "Scheduling "Utilization Management "Population Management "Claims Processing "Customer and Health Information Services "Communications "Data Analysis "Exchange of Healthcare Information Interested vendors are encouraged to review the "Plan to Consolidate Programs of Department of Veterans Affairs to Improve Access to Care" report for additional information and in advance of Industry Day.
