Contracting Office Address NASA/John F. Kennedy Space Center, Procurement, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 Description NASA/John F. Kennedy Space Center plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for NNK16569003R Reinforce Catacomb Roof for SLS Block 1B Vehicle, LC39B, John F. Kennedy Space Center, Florida. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE NECESSARY RESOURCES TO: The primary task of the construction firm will be the construction of the reinforcement to increase the structural capacity of the existing LC 39B catacomb structure to support program launch vehicles. LC 39B will be undergoing other construction modifications during the performance of this construction project and close coordination with the Governments team will be required. The work for this project includes, but is not limited to, the following: A. The structural reinforcement of the catacombs roof utilizing cast-in-place concrete beams.Beam construction will involve post-installed adhesive anchors, reinforcing steel, galvanic anode installation, and forming and shoring at a ceiling height of approximately 38 feet above the finished floor. B. Construction in the catacombs will be in areas with limited access and workspace due to existing duct, cable tray, up to 84 inch diameter piping, and/or other obstructions. Access to the catacombs includes limited clearances. C. Post-installed adhesive anchor installation shall be performed by a contractor with a minimum of 3-years experience performing similar installations, and by personnel carrying ACI-CRSI certification. The contractor will be required to conduct thorough training of installers on this project with the anchor manufacturer. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 238110, Poured Concrete Foundation and Structure Contractors, with a small business size standard of $15 million. The effort will include the following task: Task 1 Reinforce Catacomb Roof for SLS Block 1B Vehicle, LC 39B The Performance Period including shall be completed in 334 calendar days after notice to proceed. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 36.204, Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects, the estimated price range is as follows: The total estimated cost of this project is in the estimated construction contract price range of between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about December 2015 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about January 2016. The firm date for receipt of bids or proposals shall be stated in the RFP. A site visit will be scheduled on or about December - January. Prime contractors will be limited on the number of personnel in attendance. Specifications and Drawings have an Export Determination of EAR 99 Controlled and are considered controlled documents. Therefore, download of documents wont be permitted until requesters have been cleared through Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS).
