- The purpose of this amendment is to: 1) Extend the close date of the amended RFQ from 12/4/2015 to 12/9/2015, by 1500 EST. Any prospective bidder desiring an explanation or interpretation of the solicitation must request it via e-mail to the Contract Specialist: Christopher Brailer (christopher.brailer@va.gov) No Later Than: close of business on December 3, 2015. 2) Respond to the following question, "Is a bid, payment or performance bond needed?" Answer: No. 3) Inserts updated Work Phase diagram (see after responses to RFIs). 4) Answer the following RFIs from potential contractors (These answers supersede RFI responses posted by way of amendment VA248-16-Q-1056_2, dated 11-24-2015. In case of conflicting answers, amendment VA248-16-Q-106_3 governs the solicitation): Request for Information from Contractors and Responses (12/1/2015) 1.Will contractor supply electrical poles? YES 2.Will contractor be terminating Cat6 on government furnished patch panels? - YES 3.Shall contractor be responsible for patch cords? - YES 4.Will rack space be provided in the IT room for contractor? Contractor to furnish and install: " 2 -2 post 19 inch standard data racks (approximately 44U - 45U in height) osecurely attached to the floor oA cable tray, other appropriate cabling management, will be installed at the top of the racks to provide support for the cabling from the ceiling to the top of the racks oRacks will be grounded oIn the racks - "2 - APC Smart-UPS 2200VA RM 2U LCD 120V (or equivalent) "one per rack, installed at the bottom of each rack "Patch panels "To be installed beginning at the top of the racks "Cabling oAll data cabling will be terminated in the patch panels, labeled and verified to CAT6 standards oPhone cabling will be terminated on standard 110 blocks, on the wall board near the existing phone cabling o100 - 7' CAT6 patch cables will be provided by the contractor (preferred color is blue) 5.Shall data plates be provided by the contractor for furniture?-YES 6.If plates are provided by the contractor, will they need to be stainless steel?- NO 7.What color will the CMP Cat6 be for this installation?- (white - voice green- data) 8.What color will the Cat6 jacks be at the workstations?- Light Orange 9.Do the work areas have asbestos or lead paint? NO building built in 2001 10.Confirm the number of Dat6 drops per cubicle is (2)? (1 box with 3 data 1 voice) 11.Confirm the manufacturer for the cable and connectivity (faceplate/jacks/patch panels)?- Wall Plate - Ortronic Clarity Fog White - Jacks - (Ortronic Clarity 6E TracJack, T568A/B, OR-TJ5E00-23, Light Orange / Ortronic Clarity6E TracJack, T568A/B, OR-T5E00, Fog White. 12.The existing is PVC. Are we still pricing the new installation Plenum cable? Plenum Rated. 13.During the walk thru on 11/17 it was stated project is phased installation, can we get drawings or paperwork indication how cubicles will be installed for bidding purpose?-YES 14.The existing server cabinet in TR is full with no room install any additional patch panels or horizontal wire managers. Can we provide in bid a wall mount cabinet solution with ladder tray for patch cable routing into the existing switch located in the existing server cabinet?- A ladder tray from the existing rack to the 2 new 19 inch racks. (See comment #4) 15.If this project will be phased so the customer can still work in the area being renovated can we account for some afterhours work to be coordinated to install materials for j-hooks (drilling/shots make noise) for cable pathway? Yes on a limited/as needed bases to be determined by the COR. 16.Confirm the number of power poles needed to accommodate modular furniture. Contractor will determine number of poles based on size of pole and wire/cabling size. 17.Will the existing flooring be replaced and if so, what type of floor box blank covers will be accepted?-Galvanized plates flush with the slab. 18.What color receptacles will be accepted?-Fog White. 19.Specify the amount of addition outlets/data drops needed for the temporary office set-up. 16 20.How many phases will be needed to complete the project? - Seven. 21.Please confirm the period of performance. To be determined by contracting officer (suggested 14 weeks) 22.What color faceplates, receptacles, and jacks are required for installation?-Please see number 11 above. 23.The current space above the drop ceiling is not plenum rated. All current cabling is riser rated. Is CMP cable acceptable on this project? All cabling to be Plenum rated 24.I Hellerman Tyton connectivity partnered with Hitachi Cat6 cable acceptable for this project? No 25.Please clarify the exact total number of drops per cubicle and the exact number of total drops for the total project including drops for network printers. (3 data and 1 voice per cubical) 88 total cubical stations ( see attached drawing) plus 10 additional printer data drops (3 data and 1 voice) (locations to be determined during project) with a quad electric receptacle per drop. Total = 98 data drops (3data 1 voice) and 98 hospital grade quad receptacles. 26.Please provide phased timelines for this project with drawing representing which cubicles will be in each phase. See attached drawing 27.Is contractor to provide patch cables for this project if so how many and what length?-100 Seven (7') foot CAT6 Patch Cables - Color - Blue. 28.Are Arlington loops acceptable as cable supports for data cables? No Note- All existing data/ voice ports that are not part of the SOW (surrounding offices and common areas) will need to remain in service and brought over to the new IT rack as part of the project.
