Description
Sole Source Justification Procurement of ZF Lower Unit Outdrive Gears and housings for Wilmington District's Dredge Murden. The North American Industry Classification System code is 333613. Only one award will be made, as a result of this sources sought. The contract will be awarded as a firm fixed price type contract. The Wilmington District, Operations Division monitors and maintains over 300 miles of federal navigation channels within the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) in North Carolina. These are direct replacement parts for the ZF Outdrives currently installed in the Murden. The Upper Unit Outdrive Gears and Housings that are currently in use aboard the Dredge "Murden" were designed and built by ZF Marine Propulsion Systems Miramar, LLC. Changing the outdrives would result in a significant loss of revenue of for each day of lost production. This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the USACE (Contracting) Wilmington District to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. Any capability statements must be received in the Contracting Office of Acquisitions on or before 2:00 PM EST on December 7, 2015, via email. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to receive an award, contractors must have valid registration and certification in the System Award Management (SAM) https://www.sam.gov and the Federal Award Performance and Integrity Information System (FAPIIS). All questions must be received in writing and emailed to Carol Jayroe, Contract Specialist, at Carol.B.Jayroe@usace.army.mil.
