Intend to Award Sole Source to: Beckman Coulter, Inc. THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one source to: Beckman Coulter, Inc. 11800 SW 147th Ave. Miami, FL 33196-2500 The objective of this sole source award is to acquire an annual preventive maintenance and any subsequent repairs for Urine Analyzer with the manufacturer. Sole source is based on only one responsible source as Beckman Coulter, Inc. is the manufacturer of IQ Select 2008, Urine Analyzer. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 811219; the small business size standard is $20.5 million. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. All information received by 12:00PM EST on December 09, 2015 may be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Michael Tempero, Contract Specialist at Michael.Tempero@va.gov. The email subject line shall state, "Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center", "Intent to Sole Source to Beckman Coulter, Inc.". A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
