- Description
- Volcano Core Precision Guided Therapy System West Roxbury Cardiology - EP And installation of system in Cardiology Electrophysiology Lab Description: Individual items as stated above: Intended use: The Volcano Core Guided Therapy System will provide the Electrophysiology Lab at West Roxbury Intravascular Ultrasound Imaging, IVUS and Physiological Assessment (FFR/iFR) to enable precision guided therapies in coronary and peripheral anatomy. System will provide interfaces to accept intravascular technologies used in cardiac catheterization. The work stations are independent units, which are not connected to the clinical CPRS/Vista computer network. These studies are uploaded and stored on the Xcelera imaging system used to store imaging studies from the cardiac cath lab and echocardiography labs. This new upgrade will provide new software and hardware to improve the efficiency of IVUS imaging (by faster setup and easier connections) as well as new software to enhance the images and widen options for IVUS. These include the use of the current multiple array catheters as well as the mechanical IVUS catheters, provision for optical coherence tomography catheters and forward looking ultrasound technologies. The IVUS catheters are directed into coronary and other peripheral arteries to assist diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease. This upgrade will enhance the options and efficiency of intravascular imaging in the EP laboratory. Installation of CORE Precision Guided Therapy System, will run cables from the CORE CPU typically in the control room or CPU cabinet to the tomb stone aka gas box at the base of the procedure table in the procedure room. Would need at least a 2" conduit, preferably 3". There will be a ground cable from the CORE CPU to the X-Ray System ground bus in the equipment room. Either a connection into a video wall box or a cable run from the COR CPU to the boom monitor in the exam room. Will require power near the CORE CPU and a DICOM/PACS data port connection. West Roxbury Cardiology - Cath Lab Upgrade of two existing Volcano CORE systems in Cardiology - Cath Lab Description: Individual items as stated above: Intended use: The Volcano Multi-Modality Technology Bundle will provide the Cardiac Catheterization Labs at West Roxbury VA with new CORE Control Pads for system control within the sterile field and the iFR Modality for Physiological Assessment without Adenosine on the currently installed Volcano CORE Systems. The technology bundle upgrade will provide new software (the iFR Modality) and hardware (CORE Control Pads) to improve the efficiency of IVUS imaging/Functional Measurement in catheterization procedures. Enabling functional control of the systems in the sterile field for faster setup and easier operation as well as new software to add procedural and cost efficiency to physiology measurements. Installation of the Multi-Modality Technology Bundle will require Volcano representative to plug CORE Control Pads into the Bedside Utility Box currently mounted in each room and a software upgrade will be installed on each CPU. No access to PHI is required for this upgrade to be executed. No work by VA employees is required for this upgrade.
