- Description
- The Maritime Administration (MARAD) is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources that currently possess the technical expertise, capabilities and experience necessary to meet the agency's requirement to perform Bridge Annual Inspection and Repairs throughout the Training Ship Golden Bear. Work to be compliant with IMO, ABS, USCG & NEMA regulations. Work includes but is not limited to: Radar and Gyro - Perform annual OEM inspections and operational checks and report findings and needed repairs if any Security Systems - This work is necessary to survey the ship's Security System and to insure its proper operation in keeping with SSAS and ISM and Regulatory requirements - Ship's Security Alarm System (SSAS) & Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and provide a report for the USCG COI and ABS Survey Navigation and Regulatory - Yokogawa Compass and Raytheon Steering Stand, Simplified Voyage Data Recorder (SVDR) and Automatic Identification System (AIS), Doppler Speed Log, GPS and Navigation Control Display, Wind Monitor, Depth Sounder, Rudder Angle Indicator and Rate of Turn Indicator Communication - Fleet Broadband Communications, Bridge VHF Radios, GMDSS - Communications Lab, GMDSS - FURUNO/JRC. Contractor to supply and install a new Furuno A3 GMDSS suite (Ref Furuno A3 - RC1825) Bridge Electronics -Replace Analog Course Recorder with new contractor supplied Yokogawa MRD290 Paperless Course Recorder or equivalent Regulatory Inspections of all Bridge Equipment and issuance of USCG and ABS required documents noting that all is operational and meets regulatory requirements Supply a one (1) year service contract for selected equipment This is not a Request for Proposal RFQ) and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The government will not reimburse any contractor for any costs incurred as a result of participation in this survey and participation may not necessarily result in your company being able to participate in the resulting solicitation. The information provided will aid in the development of the procurement strategy for this requirement. This is a new requirement. The ship is presently located at the California Maritime Academy at Vallejo CA. Those contractors wishing to participate should notify Kathryn Rato, Contracting Officer and provide certificates of the assigned technicians; in other words, provide a licensed and trained Technician with a minimum of five (5) years of experience performing annual OEM recommended maintenance and repairs and supporting USCG COI inspections and ABS Annual Surveys. Also supply experience with equipment operation with crew and reports of completed tests and inspections and repairs, if any.
