Description
Please fully fill out all applicable sections of the Request for Quotation. You MUST provide what the credit to the Government will be for the old core to be considered for award. In order to receive the full amount of CLIN 0001 without a credit applied, prospective contractors must demonstrate that repair of the old engine is not possible. This is the approved Justification for a Brand Name Acquisition. The specifications for the engine are found in the J&A as well as the full directions for the repair of the old engine. THIS WILL BE A BRAND NAME ACQUISITION Under the contemplated contract, the contractor will provide one (1) John Deere 4.5L diesel engine, model 4045TF270. The engine connects to a 2008, model 600 Tymco Runway Sweeper. The government will remove the old engine, however, the contractor will be responsible for transporting the damaged engine from 7 LRS/LGRV (698 Ave E. 79607) back to its primary place of performance. After transporting the damaged engine, the contractor will attempt to make repairs. Repairs can only be completed by a licensed distributor of John Deere. If the damaged engine is able to be repaired then the contractor must provide a credit to the Government. If the repairs are not possible, the contractor must provide proof that the engine is not salvageable. The estimated notification time for whether repairs could/could not be accomplished on the damaged engine will be within 60 days after pick up of the damaged engine. The estimated delivery for the new diesel engine will be within 60 days after the date of the contract (ADC). The customer and the potential contractor will coordinate delivery of the new engine and pick up of the damaged engine. The damaged engine will need to be picked up within 7 calendar days of the drop off of the new engine. The estimated 60 days for notification of whether repairs could/could not be accomplished will not start until the damaged engine has been received by the contractor from 7 LRS/LGRV. THIS WILL BE A BRAND NAME ACQUISITION
