- Sources Sought Notice This is not a Request for Proposal, or, Request for Quotation, or, an Invitation for Bid. DLA Troop Support is conducting market research seeking to identify possible manufacturers that can supply a similar item, closely meeting or exceeding the description of a Pneumatic Chain Saw provided below. Required Technical Characteristics: ITEM NAME Paving Breaker (a/k/a Jack Hammer ) DRIVE METHOD Pneumatic PRESSURE RATING 90.0 to 100.0 PSI Pounds Nominal (6.2 - 6.9 bar) @breaker inlet CONNECTION SIZE 0.75NPT (¾") For ¾ inch air hose not included. Throttle Performance : Control is a self-closing lever operated valve built into the handle. Air pressure raises the handle to the off position. The paving breaker starts as the handle is depressed. Releasing the lever shuts off the unit. DESIGN TYPE One person operational unit BORE DEPTH CAPACITY 2.06 inches STROKE DEPTH 5.5 to 6.0 inches IMPACT RATE / MINUTE 1200-1400 OPERATING PRESSURE Air consumption 85PSI Allowable weight between 85 to 92 Lbs Shipping weight not to exceed 97 Lbs Coupling shall have standard threading Compliance with the Weighted RMS acceleration ISO 8662, Part 5 on vibration: 23.5m/s 2. Performance uses include: Cracking, breaking, boring, drilling concrete, rock, coal, and other hard materials. Warranty period: minimum 1 Year An example of a known acceptable item is NSN 3820-01-616-8117, Clark Equipment Company,DBA Doosan CAGE CODE 33968, PART or MODEL NUMBER 35357482 Paving breaker. Interested sources are requested to review the item description carefully to identify any potential manufacturing challenges and formulate a determination that the requirements can be met. Questions or concerns regarding construction methods or design, cannot be addressed or answered. Meeting with technical safety requirements imposed on this type of commercial item, such as by OSHA, are the responsibility of the manufacturer. The intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to gather information that will identify sources for the possibility of a solicitation for the referenced items under a one-time large, fixed price, fixed quantity contract. Manufacturers may be required to submit technical data packages and proof of business permit and or license for the locality. If a solicitation or solicitations would result, it/they would be advertised on the Government's DIBBS website, and or, synopsized on the FedBizOpps website. It would be the offeror's responsibility to monitor these websites for any such notice/s.
