Description

This is a Sources Sought Notice issued pursuant to DFARS PGI 206.302-1. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Pacific (SSC Pacific), contemplates the award of a sole source contract to Hydroid Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 for engineering support, maintenance, repairs, training, documentation updates, spares, and system upgrades for the Littoral Battlespace Sensing Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (LBS-AUV) system, which is part of the Littoral Battlespace Sensing Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (LBS-UUV) Program of Record. LBS systems include their associated variants as well as other Remote Environmental Measuring Units (REMUS) based U.S. Navy AUVs. The LBS- UUV includes two ocean sensor systems with complimentary capabilities: LBS Gliders (LBS-G) and LBS-AUVs. Technical drawings of the vehicles are proprietary to Hydroid Inc. as the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and will not and cannot be provided to contractors. SSC Pacific is trying to determine if sources exist, other than the OEM, that are qualified to support the LBS- UUV program to include the capability of maintaining and servicing the proprietary vehicles, as stated in the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS). Your response in the form of a description of your capabilities and current customers will assist us in meeting this goal.
