Description
Sole Source Justification The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Maleki Technologies for professional services to provide access to findings generated from a proprietary database of geotechnical data pertaining to dynamic failure events, and expert analysis of data. The vendor has access to extensive proprietary data from a wide variety of minesites through his 30 years of consulting. Many of these mines have experienced dynamic failure phenomena. The type of detailed, site specific data that the vendor has access to will be necessary to identify the critical contributors to dynamic failure events; particularly with respect to near seam geology, as this information is not generally publicly available and is very hard to come by through other means. In addition, the vendor has extensive experience analyzing dynamic failure phenomena and is uniquely qualified to effectively analyze the available data in conjunction with NIOSH staff. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to William Brannen at VWL0@cdc.gov by 12:00 P.M., January 21, 2016.
