Description

BACKGROUND: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC), is providing an invitation to interested contractors to attend and participate in an Industry Day presentation pertaining to VHA Recruitment Services on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 via teleconference. The presentation of information and the subsequent submission of feedback/comments from industry is considered an exchange of information (FAR 15.201). The purpose of exchanging information is to improve the understanding of Government requirements and industry capabilities, thereby allowing potential offerors to judge whether or how they can satisfy the Government's requirements, and enhancing the Government's ability to obtain quality services, ascertain reasonable prices, and increase efficiency in proposal preparation, proposal evaluation, negotiation, and contract award. An agenda is being planned whereby the SAC and VHA Workforce Management & Consulting for VHA Recruitment Services intend to share its strategic goals, priorities and objectives. An agenda will be provided to registrants at a later date. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC) is evaluating the market to determine if there are commercial vendors with the capacity to assist VHA with the recruitment of experienced Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists and other critical healthcare professionals. In response to the need to rapidly improve access to care for our veterans and to augment the "hiring spree" announced by the Secretary, additional recruitment resources will be useful to help recruit healthcare professionals to the VHA's 1400+ medical centers and outpatient clinics throughout the continental Unites States and Puerto Rico. In order to achieve the momentum necessary for sustained transformation, we must have the capability to engage, attract, and recruit the best talent and promote VHA as the healthcare provider of choice. Physicians within VHA are dedicated to ensuring that the men and women who served this country are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. VHA is experiencing significant shortfalls in its physician workforce particularly specialties of Mental Health, Gastroenterology, Radiology, etc, causing lengthy wait-times for veterans seeking care and significant increased cost associated with outsourcing services through fee-for-service, use of interim staff, and direct referrals for medical care outside VHA. Given the current shortage of physicians and increasingly competitive recruitment environment, as well as the urgency of the need, VHA is seeking recruiting support in sourcing qualified candidates for physician and non-healthcare provider vacancies. EVENT INFORMATION: DATE: Tuesday, January 26, 2016 TIME: 12:00 Noon, EST DIAL-IN INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED AT A LATER DATE TO REGISTRATION PARTICIPANTS REGISTRATION: The Industry Day will be held via VANTS Teleconference Service. Due to limited available lines, each company is authorized to register only TWO representatives for the phone conference. Multiple sessions will be conducted on January 26, 2016. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Contractors may review the attached draft PWS and submit questions prior to Industry Day to allow the government the opportunity to prepare thorough responses to questions. Registration closes at 4:00 p.m., EST on January 13, 2016. All questions are to be submitted NLT 4:00 p.m., January 15, 2016.
