Description
The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), on behalf of U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research (USAISR) is issuing a Sources Sought Notice with the Intent to Award a Sole Source contract. This is not a request for proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the government to pay for cost incurred in preparation and submission of data in response to this announcement. This is a Sources Sought Notice with the intent to award a sole source contract to Georgia State University (GSU), as authorized by 10 USC 2304(C)(1) and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This is a logical follow-on to work performed with GSU. The scope of work involved combining clinically-available rehabilitative and regenerative strategies to improve functional outcomes after severe extremity trauma. The ongoing work with GSU will be performed under a research contract for Fiscal Year 2016. The sole source requirement is to support the translation of regenerative and rehabilitative therapies to clinic applications. The specific service support required is the construction of specialized miniature neural electrical stimulators and expertise in implanting and operating the stimulators in rats and pigs.
