- Description
- This notice is a synopsis in accordance with FAR 5.101 for a proposed contract action to Contract W31P4Q-12-C-0098 published at least 15 days before the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations and a solicitation will not be issued for this requirement. The Army Contracting Command - Redstone Arsenal intends to award a modification to the existing Tube Launched Optically Tracked Wireless 2 Subsystem (T2SS) Engineering Services (ES) contract which will extend the contract period of performance from 1 April 2016 through 31 January 2017. The extension will provide for the continuation of ES in support of fielded T2SS, components and support equipment. This ten month extension of services is accomplished pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies of Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This ten month extension is intended to be awarded to Raytheon Technical Services (RTS) Company under FAR 6.302-1 as award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition and there would be unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirement. This extension is necessary to allow time for the other than Full and Open Competition (FAOC) acquisition of the follow-on contract. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in preparation of information or documents related to this option to extend services. Written comments or questions regarding this notice must be emailed to Michael.r.bell44.civ@mail.mil and Dorphelia.b.foster.civ@mail.mil.
