Description

Sole Source Justification & Approval SOW Notice of Intent to Sole Source The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC. The National Eye Institute's Biological Imaging Core requires an extended warranty agreement covering a Carl Zeiss Microscope (Item # SN 3512000569). Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC is the only company able to provide the following unique service and repair features: 1) Activation of Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC diagnostics software for calibrating system parameters. 2) Activation of Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC diagnostics software for calibrating scanning stage for use with Zen software. 3) Evaluation and repair of Apotome unit. 4) Evaluation of Zeiss AxioCam MRm with Firewire connectivity. 5) Providing upgraded versions of software including Carl Zeiss Microscopy LLC operating system "Zen". Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC (Thornwood, NY 10594) is the only company possessing the diagnostic software required to perform diagnosis and repair of the critical components of the Zeiss Imager Z1 motorized microscope imaging system.
