RFI Request for Information: Holm Center AFJROTC Response Deadline: 1 Feb 16; 12:00 PM (CDST) 42nd Contracting Squadron/LGCA-2 SSgt Charles Boyd, Contract Specialist; Marcus Abram, Contracting Officer Maxwell AFB, AL 36112 Purpose: THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IAW FAR 15.201(e). This notice is solely for market research and planning purposes and does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid, nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government to its ultimate acquisition approach. No award will be made from this Request for Information (RFI) and the Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this notice. The purpose of this RFI is to gather information from industry on establishing a firm fixed price contract for the purchase of 900 (ea) Turning Point Cloud (TPC) Receivers (Brand Name or Equal), Product number: RRRF-03; and 900 (ea) Presenter Cards; Product number: PCRF-01. See "or equal" minimum specifications below for receivers and presenter cards. The Government considers information on market capabilities, common industry standards, latest technological advances, commercial terms, and conditions, timelines for adaptation and integration, and possible suppliers and sources to be helpful. All feedback and information received may be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for possible future acquisitions. Please do not request a copy of a solicitation because one does not exist. Description of the Requirement: CLIN 0001: - Turning Point Cloud (TPC) Receiver (*Brand Name or Equal); Product number: RRRF-03 QTY 900 EA *OR EQUAL MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS FOR CLIN 0001: Storage Receiver features and capabilities include: Hardware: 1) receive radio frequency signals from the RF student response systems currently fielded by the AFJROTC 2) offer plug and play functionality 3) have a 200 ft. range from receiver to RF student response system devices 4) have the ability to change between 74 RF channels for use in close proximity 5) hold 16GB of storage/memory 6) include a one year warranty Software: 1) collect, record, aggregate and display student response system data from the "student clicker" devices that are currently fielded by the AFJROTC 2) customize the way student data is displayed in a variety of charts, including response count, percentages, and horizontal or vertical bar charts 3) work with the following operating systems (OS): Windows (XP, Vista, 7), and Mac OSX, including 64-bit compatibility 4) have the ability to create, edit, delete and import student rosters from an Excel format 5) have the ability to create questions directly into PowerPoint files OR as stand-alone questions 6) have the ability to create and deliver the following question types: a. multiple choice (up to 10 choices) b. true/false c. multiple correct d. short answer (up to 140 characters) e. numeric 7) deliver a written test to students in a self-paced mode 8) display reports that allow for the customization of displayed fields 9) export any report to the following formats: PDF, Excel and CSV CLIN 0002: - Presenter Cards; Product number: PCRF-01 QTY 900 EA *OR EQUAL MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS FOR CLIN 0002: Presenter Card features and capabilities include: 1) operate via radio frequency (RF) 2) display battery level via LCD screen 3) start and stop polling of the student response system 4) move forward and backwards through a PowerPoint slide deck 5) include three buttons that can be programmed by the instructor to: a. play/pause a countdown timer b. show/hide response grid c. show/hide chart window d. mark answer correct e. re-poll f. toggle between percentage and count 6) blank the screen with the selection of one button 7) change the channel to be able to quickly connect to another computer COMPATIBILITY: **ITEMS PROPOSED MUST BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE EQUIPMENT THAT AFJROTC ALREADY HAS IN PLACE. THE PART NUMBERS FOR THAT EQUIPMENT ARE: Turning Technologies NXT CLICKER: NXT-01 Turning Technologies MOBIVIEW CHALKBOARD: CB-A-84-00523-02-R Questions: In order to develop any potential acquisition strategy the following information would be useful: 1. Does your company provide a brand name or equal item that will meet the needs of this requirement? If so, please provide the name of items and brochure that includes the specifications. 2. Does your company provide brand name or equal items that will meet this requirement, that are compatible with Turning Technology (previously eInstruction) Turning Point Cloud NXT System? 3. Any other aspects that should be considered by the government as it refines the requirement and potentially develops an acquisition strategy? Responses: This RFI is prepared for planning purposes only and is not restricted to small business. If the government decides to pursue a RFP, portions of your RFI response may be incorporated into the Statement of Objectives (SOO). Sources are discouraged from submitting any information deemed competition-sensitive or proprietary. However, if sources elect to submit competition-sensitive or proprietary information, sources bear sole responsibility for marking said information as such to ensure appropriate safeguarding by the Government. The Government shall not be held liable for any damages incurred if proprietary information is not properly identified. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. 1) RFI responses must include company name, address, at least one designated point of contact, voice and fax telephone numbers, and an email address. 2) All respondents are required to provide a capability statement demonstrating how your products are compatible with the current equipment that AFJROTC currently has in place. The current equipment is NXT Clicker; part number NXT-01 and Mobiview chalkboard; part number CB-A-84-00523-02-R. 3) All questions and responses to our request for information/questions shall be submitted, via e-mail, to charles.boyd.5@us.af.mil; marcus.abram@us.af.mil. After review of the responses to this RFI, the Government may or may not proceed with an acquisition. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor this site for any new information related to this RFI.
