- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue a Firm-Fixed-Price contract modification to the previously awarded MK 48 Heavyweight Torpedo (HWT) Mod 7 Common Broadband Advanced Sonar System (CBASS) Functional Item Replacement (FIR) Kit contract (N00024-11-C-6404) to procure an additional two (2) sets of FIR level Automated Test Equipment (ATE). This requirement will be solicited as sole source from the current contractor, Lockheed Martin Sippican (LMS), Seven Barnabas Road, Marion, MA 02738. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, as only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Note: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to solicit proposals from more than one source for performance of the contemplated contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests.
