Description
Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials and tools necessary to complete the Scope of Work (SOW) as defined below. 1. The scope of work shall generally consist of, but not limited to the following; providing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, permits, testing, and reports required to construct a new 3rd floor of Building 104 for a 12 Bed ICU and Medical Unit of the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA as defined by the drawings and specifications. The intent of this project is to construct a new space for the hospital to add a 3rd floor to Building 104 for the ICU, with elevators that connect to both the public and directly to the surgery area. To build the 3rd floor, the 2nd floor interstitial space will need to be completed, and an elevator lobby will need constructed on the 1st floor. The project will include minor de-construction, minor demolition, floors, lights, ceilings, alarm systems, fire suppression, plumbing, cameras, electrical/information technology cabling, system controls, doors, signage, stairs, heating ventilation air conditioning (HVAC), pipes, elevators, concrete, and associated structural components as shown on drawings and specifications. 2.The exterior work includes construction of a multistory addition to the mechanical interstitial space, elevator lobby, and the ICU/Medical/Surgical Bed Unit. The addition is approximately 13,000 square feet for the ICU/Medical/Surgical area, approximately 12,000 square feet of interstitial space, and is approximately 25 feet tall masonry and steel structure which will be built on top of an existing 14 feet tall structure. The construction of the addition will require new utilities, erosion control, traffic control, site security, masonry work, placement of structural steel, concrete, asphalt and associated structural, horizontal, vertical work among other trades as shown on drawings and specifications. Construction involving the setting of steel, decking, and any other activity that will involve potential to fall onto the current areas of Building 104, will occur outside of normal business hours/days. Building 104 is an occupied building, Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm. 3.Interior work consist of mainly construction of floors, walls, ceilings, lights, alarm systems, fire suppression, plumbing, cameras/security system, information technology cabling, electrical, system controls, doors, signage, stairs, pipes, welding, concrete, installation of HVAC, elevators, medical gases, and other associated work as shown on drawings and specifications. 4.The contractor shall contract for and provide third party commissioning service as part of government acceptance and testing of the ICU/MEDICAL/SURGICAL Unit. 5.This project shall be priced as requested in the solicitation to complete all interior, exterior work, installation of equipment, rental of temporary elevators and commissioning as identified in the drawings and specifications. All work shall be completed within 600 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. The project magnitude will be between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The full solicitation will be posted on or before February 16, 2016 that will include the entire Scope of Work, drawings and specifications. Contractors should not submit any questions until the solicitation is posted.
