- SOURCES SOUGHT: Repair 15 Military Family Housing Units (MFH) Upper Plaza THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. The posting of this information is for planning purposes in an effort to determine the availability of prospective, responsible, contractors to repair 15 military family housing units located at Upper Plaza Housing, Okinawa, Japan. WORK SUMMARY: Under a design-build construction contract, responsible contractor shall provide all resources, including design, material, equipment, supervision, and labor necessary to repair 15 military family housing units, Upper Plaza, Okinawa, Japan. The work includes but not limited to: 1) Replace interior and exterior utility and communication service infrastructure to meet current standards. 2) Replace damaged internal concrete slab and partitions. 3) Replace doors, windows, fixtures and finishes. 4) Upgrade kitchen and bathrooms. 5) Replace asphalt driveway and update hard-wire smoke detection system. 6) Perform asbestos and lead based paint remediation. This project will be performed locally in its entirety. This project is planned for advertising on or about April 2016. The current estimated cost range prusuant to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204 is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000 (Subject to change without update or notice). The NAICS Code is 236118. The anticipated period of performance for this project is 503 calendar days. Principally, the purpose of this NOTICE is to gain knowledge of potential sources that can satisfy the Government's requirement and are interested in performing the construction services identified below. The anticipated source selection method will be a Design-Build Construction Invitation for Bid (IFB) pusuant to FAR Part 14. Capabilities will be evaluated primarily for the purposes of determining adequate competition among the marketplace.
