Description
This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought publication only. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Please do not submit a proposal in response to this notice. This notice is to assist the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is seeking potential contractors capable of providing cardiovascular and thoracic surgery services (to include on-call) on site at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, 1 Veterans Drive Minneapolis, MN 55417-2309. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. Services to be provided include: The contractor will provide the services of practicing Cardiovascular and Thoracic (C&T) Surgeon(s) to provide 24/7 departmental coverage with responsibility for all clinical care and related treatment for veterans admitted to the Minneapolis VA Cardiovascular and Thoracic Inpatient and Outpatient Departments. One full-time Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon will act as the Chief of C&T Surgery to manage the clinical and administrative responsibilities of the department as well as function as a practicing C&T Surgeon. Services of additional part-time Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons are also required. Surgeons provided must be able to perform all of the major surgical procedures which are expected of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons, including, but not limited to: Cardiac: "Coronary artery bypass (on-pump, off-pump, minimally invasive including robotically-assisted); "Arterial grafts (RIMA, LIMA, gastroepiploeic, radial); "Aortic valve repair and replacement (open AVR, minimally invasive AVR, TAVR, homograft root replacement, Bentall procedures, valve-sparing David type procedures, Ross procedures, repair of congenital aortic valve defects); "Mitral valve repair and replacement (open valve replacement/repair, minimally invasive valve replacement/repair, robotically assisted valve replacement/repair); "Combined aortic and mitral valve repair/replacement, "Tricuspid and pulmonary valve repair/replacement; "Surgery for bacterial and fungal endocarditis (debridement and prosthetic or homograft valve replacement including recreation of the aorta-mitral curtain); "Surgery for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy; "Surgery for atrial fibrillation (open Maze procedures, open pulmonary vein isolation, minimally invasive pulmonary vein isolation, left atrial appendage clip); "Robotic-assisted and/or thoracoscopic left ventricular pacemaker lead placement; "Pacemaker and ICD placement; "Surgery for ascending arch and descending aortic disease (repair of dissections, use of profound hypothermia and circulatory arrest, replacement of transverse aortic arch with reimplantation of head vessels, debranching procedures (TEVAR); "Surgery for heart failure (LVAD, RVAD, ECMO); "Adult congenital surgery; Pulmonary: "Major lung resection (open pneumonectomy / lobectomy /segmentectomy, VATS pneumonectomy/ lobectomy/segmentectomy); "Chest wall resection; "Minimally invasive and open thymectomy: "Open and minimally invasive diaphragm plication; "Pancoast tumor; "Surgery for neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome; "Surgery for subclavian effort thrombosis; "Endoscopic bronchial ultrasound; "Video mediastinoscopy; "Bronchial stenting; Esophageal: "Minimally invasive and open esophagectomy; "Esophageal stenting "Endoscopic ultrasound; "Benign esophageal procedures including fundoplication (Nissen, Belsey, Thal; "Heller myotomy; "Esophageal dilation and endoscopy Additional Information: The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8a, small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621111, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists); size standard of $11 Million. Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond directly to any corresponding solicitation by submitting a proposal. Responses: If you are interested and are capable of providing the required services please provide the requested contact information. The intended contract period would be for one base year and four, one-year option periods. Responses to this notice should include a company name, address, point of contact (Name, Phone Number and e-Mail Address), DUNS number, business size, Socioeconomic Status (Veteran Owned, SDVOSB, HUBZONE, 8(a), etc.) and a capability statement.
